Dow falls 400 pts after Fed’s pessimistic forecast

San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank President Mary Daly claimed on Tuesday that the United States economy will “get worse” before it bounces back after the coronavirus pandemic.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average index dropped 400 points on Tuesday after San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank President Mary Daly said that the national economy will “get worse” ahead of its recovery from the coronavirus-caused damage. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo revealed earlier in the day that the health authorities registered 332 new deaths due to the coronavirus in the most affected state in the country, adding that he doesn’t expect life to return to normal any time soon in New York. The Dow Jones fell by 1.75%, or 389 points, at 3:31 pm ET. The Nasdaq 100 was 1.18% down at 3:32 pm ET. At the same time, the S&P 500 declined by 1.81%.
