OPEC: Global 2025 GDP growth forecast up to 3%

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) projected in its August report, published on Tuesday, that global gross domestic product (GDP) will reach 3% in 2025, up by 0.1 percentage points from the previous forecast. In 2026, global economic growth should stand at 3.1%, according to the report. The United States’ growth for 2025 was revised up from 1.7% to 1.8%, while the projection for 2026 growth remained unchanged at 2.1%. The Eurozone’s economy is expected to grow by 1.2% both in 2025 and 2026. China’s GDP is projected to rise by 4.8% this year, up 0.2 percentage points from last month’s estimate, while the forecast for 2026 growth was unchanged at 4.5%. “While several trade negotiations have concluded in recent months, trade relations between the US and a number of its key partners remain a source of uncertainty and will require continued monitoring. These trade-related uncertainties may weigh slightly on global trade activities and some inflationary effects,” the OPEC underlined.
