Rubio: Nuclear Iran ‘unacceptable’ risk

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio underlined on Monday that a potential “nuclear Iran … is an unacceptable risk.” Speaking to reporters with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by his side, Rubio stressed that Iran’s “desire” to possess not only nuclear armaments, but also short and mid-range missiles is a threat “not just for Israel [or] the United States, but for the world.” Rubio went on to say that Washington will continue its “maximum pressure” on Tehran, “until they change course.” He reiterated that the US is happy to see its European partners “begin the process of snapping back sanctions.
