The prices of oil futures continued to rise on Wednesday as supply worries intensified due to a potential United States-Iran clash. While the two countries sat down for discussions earlier this week and mentioned some progress has been made, there have been no significant changes in the attitudes, with Axios reporting that Washington could hit Tehran within weeks. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for March deliveries surged 2.7% at 7:49 am ET, going for $64 per barrel. At the same time, Brent for April settlements soared 2.63%, selling at $69.19 a barrel.
