Iran ended the negotiations with the United States over Israeli strikes on Lebanon and will completely shut the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Tasnim News Agency reported on Monday. According to the outlet, Tehran suspended “talks and exchanges of messages through mediators” due to “continued crimes of the Zionist regime in Lebanon,” as the resolution of the Lebanon crisis was one of Iran’s preconditions for peace. The Iranian side accused the US of “violating the ceasefire on all fronts.” Tehran is said to completely shut the critical Strait of Hormuz, as well as the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, in order to “punish the Zionists and their supporters.”
