OPEC Secretary-General Mohammed Barkindo said on Thursday that it is too early to discuss an extension to the crude output cut deal between the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies until the end of 2020, Tass reported. Earlier this week, Barkindo denied reports that the next meeting of the cartel and allied producers will be delayed. In December, OPEC+ agreed to extend the output cut deal and lower oil production by 500,000 barrels per day in the first quarter of 2020. The current deal is set to expire at the end of March.
