
The Nasdaq 100 declined as much as 2% deep into Thursday’s session, led by the sell-off of tech giants such as Apple, Nvidia, AMD, Tesla, and Microsoft. The previous day was marked by the Federal Reserve’s decision to start scrapping pandemic policies, announcing it would double the tapering pace to $30 billion per month from January. In a statement released yesterday, the Fed’s board members hinted at three rate hikes next year if recovery stays strong. The Nasdaq 100 plunged 1.97% or 321 points at 12:15 pm ET, while the S&P 500 lost 0.37%. At the same time, the Dow Jones jumped 0.29% or 102 points. The euro grew 0.15% against the dollar to sell for 1.13047 a minute later.
