Russia’s Gazprom is ready to boost gas sales to Europe…… now that prices are up 300%

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russian energy giant Gazprom stands ready to increase natural gas supplies to Europe, Interfax news agency cited a Kremlin spokesman as saying on Sunday, amid a surge in gas prices. Dmitry Peskov also said, according to the news agency, that Gazprom is interested in more gas supply contracts. He was speaking about the low level of gas in storage across Europe. “Is it possible to get more gas from Gazprom and pump it in there? It’s possible. Gazprom is ready. Moreover, it has already covered all the additional (supply) requests,” he was quoted as saying. Russian gas giant Gazprom has been accused by the International Energy Agency (IEA) and some lawmakers in the European Parliament of not doing enough to increase its natural gas supplies to Europe, where gas prices have soared. Peskov reiterated that Gazprom meets all the obligations on gas supplies. “Is Gazprom ready for more, for signing more contracts? Gazprom is interested in it. That’s because our consumers in Europe are our main partners,” he said. Benchmark European gas prices have risen more than 250% this year, leading to higher power prices and a knock on effect on industries reliant on gas for their production such as fertilizer plants. NN: Their is truth and then their is greeneewineee truth. Relying on weather related sources for electricity is a failed experiment. Solar relies on sun light and clouds are the enemy of solar. Wind relies upon wind and needs a strong flow of wind… And when the wind dies down or stops you got no electricity. Well guess what its cloudy as hell in Europe and the north sea is seeing little wind. Now the grennieewenniees can chant, beat drums, go to their Shinto priest. Even sacrifice chickens. But unless the clouds go away and the winds blow they are fucked. The pipelines from Russia and dirty coal are all they are left with. They should have thought about all this before they shut nuclear power plants, shunned fracking and abandoned domestic source of natural gas. Now they are Putin’s Bitch…..

CDC backs COVID-19 boosters for high-risk adults, workers, older Americans, prisoners

Sept 24 (Reuters) – The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday backed a booster shot of the Pfizer /BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for Americans aged 65 and older, adults with underlying medical conditions and adults in high-risk working and institutional settings. The decision by CDC Director Rochelle Walensky is aligned with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s authorization of the shot earlier this week and follows an August announcement of a broad booster rollout from her and other top U.S. health officials.

The CDC recommendation cleared the way for booster shots to start on Friday. Walgreens Boots Alliance and Walmart Inc said on Friday that boosters were available immediately for eligible individuals. They will also be rolled out in long-term care facilities and vaccination centers.

Walensky’s decision broke from a recommendation on Thursday by a group of expert outside advisors to the agency who had said that a narrower group of people should receive the extra shot. The CDC director is not obliged to follow the advice of the panel. “This was a scientific close call. In that situation, it was my call to make,” she told reporters at a White House briefing https://www.reuters.com/world/us/cdc-director-says-she-overruled-advisers-boosters-protect-workers-2021-09-24. The advisory panel specifically excluded people in high-risk jobs and those in close living conditions due in part to concerns about a rare heart inflammation side effect that has occurred primarily in younger men. They were also concerned the recommendation would be too broad to implement effectively. Walensky said the policy protects healthcare and frontline workers as well as religious and ethnic minority communities disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. “Many of our frontline workers, essential workers, and those in congregate settings, come from communities that have already been hardest hit,” she said. “It was a decision about providing rather than withholding access.” The panel did recommend boosters for older people and some with medical conditions that put them at higher risk of severe COVID-19. The authorization opens boosters to more than 20 million people who received their second Pfizer/BioNTech shot more than six months ago. The CDC on Thursday told its advisers that there would be no requirements to submit documentation to prove that people have the underlying conditions or work in at-risk settings. Scientists have been divided over the need for COVID-19 vaccine boosters, with some including those from the FDA and the World Health Organization saying there is inadequate evidence that they are needed by anyone other than older people and that priority should be given to people around the world who have yet to receive a first shot.

Pfizer and U.S. health officials have argued https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-looks-covid-19-boosters-curb-virus-spread-that the boosters prevent hospitalizations and deaths and that emerging data indicates they can slow mild infections as well.

The highly transmissible Delta variant of the coronavirus has driven a surge in COVID-19 cases in the United States that peaked on Sept. 1 and has since fallen about 25% to just over 120,000 cases per day, based on a 7-day moving average. The United States had authorized extra shots for those with compromised immune systems last month and around 2.3 million people have already received a third shot, according to the CDC. The CDC said about 26 million people would now be eligible for a Pfizer/BioNTech booster, including 13 million aged 65 or older. William Schaffner, an infectious disease expert at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, said the shots will be widely available under this policy. “I’m skeptical that locations will be overwhelmed, but there may be some locations, particularly in high-income neighborhoods, where they might get a lot of people interested,” Schaffner said. NN: This is a step in the right direction… But 25% of the new infections are kids under 12 years old. And the vaccine for the kiddies has passed PhaseIII clinical studies which means it should be authorized. Get this healthy people between the ages os 12 to 65 are not eligible unless your in prison or a health care worker. Does that mean you got to break the glass at the local Post Office to get this desperately needed vaccine.

China’s bans all cryptocurrencies transactions and they are no the only ones seeking to destroy what they do not understand

China Crypto Crackdown

(Bloomberg) — China’s bans all cryptocurrencies: Digital currencies sold off after China’s central bank said all cryptocurrency-related transactions were illegal, according to a Q&A statement on the People’s Bank of China’s website. Bitcoin, the largest digital coin, fell as much as 8.9%, while Ether lost near 13%. The Bloomberg Galaxy Crypto Index, a gauge of some of the most-prominent cryptos, lost as much as 11%. “It’s the latest move in a multi-year clampdown on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies,” said Antoni Trenchev, managing partner and co-founder of Nexo, a crypto lender. “For now, Bitcoin can’t catch a break. Bitcoin is being bombarded from all sides.” Chen Arad, chief operating officer at crypto risk surveillance firm Solidus Labs said “Though China’s move is particularly dramatic, it reflects on similar concerns regulators globally are sharing surrounding crypto market integrity and its role in illicit activity. Manipulation and fraud is not unique to crypto but, as a new asset class, digital assets present new challenges and have more to prove to regulators and the public.” Shares of crypto-related stocks, including Marathon Digital Holdings Inc (NASDAQ: MARA) Riot Blockchain Inc and Coinbase Global, Inc. China steps up funding oversight of Evergrande property projects – Exclusive China’s central bank is engineering a bail out!

BEIJING (Reuters) – Several local governments in China have set up special custodian accounts for property projects of its most indebted developer, Evergrande, to protect funds earmarked for housing projects from being diverted, media outlet Caixin said. Reeling under $305 billion of debt, Evergrande missed a payment deadline on a dollar bond last week, and its silence on the matter has set global investors wondering if they will have to swallow large losses when a 30-day grace period ends. The special accounts have been set up since late August in at least eight provinces where Evergrande has the most unfinished projects, the Chinese outlet said on Sunday, citing a source close to the developer’s management team. These include Anhui, Guizhou, Henan, Jiangsu and cities in the southern Pearl River Delta, it added.

The custodian accounts aim to ensure homebuyers’ payments are used to complete Evergrande’s housing projects, and not diverted elsewhere, such as to creditors, Caixin said.

In some southern cities, such as Zhuhai and Shenzhen, the offices of the housing regulator, the Ministry of Housing and Urban‑Rural Development, were also involved in overseeing and reviewing fund use by Evergrande’s projects, it said. Evergrande and the housing ministry did not immediately respond to requests for comment. In recent months, the cash-strapped developer, which epitomises the borrow-to-build business model, has stopped repaying some investors and suppliers and halted building work at many projects across China. The housing regulator has also set a Sept. 24 deadline for regional offices to report on the funding gaps facing Evergrande’s unfinished projects, Caixin said, but it was not immediately clear if this had been met. By the end of June, Evergrande still had 1,236 projects for sale, it said in a semi-annual report, including those completed and under construction. Last week, the Wall Street Journal newspaper said Chinese authorities had asked local governments to prepare for a possible collapse of Evergrande, urging them to prevent unrest and mitigate ripple effects on the rest of the economy. NN: It is obvious that the Chinese government which is not the most forthcoming on information has decided on a massive bail out. And this has calmed markets worldwide……. Further reinforcing the buy on the dips myths for millennial soon to be wiped out social media ha ha ha traders beiive. It is not common knowledge that the Chinese Commonest government changed the capital rules earlier this year that started the dominoes falling. The peoples banks of China has lowered interest rates and capital requirements last week for real estate developers in essence allowing Evergrande to start to make interest payments. And finish projects in the works  Our research and information services lead me to the conclusion Evergarande will take a haircut but survive… Crises adverted for now!

Speaking of STUPID School Reopenings Falter as U.S. Kids Near 1 Million Covid Cases

https://youtu.be/0XI2ptBDBxQ

States are resisting a return to remote learning even as the delta variant leads to higher numbers of Covid-19 cases among children and teachers.

U.S. schools were counting on widespread vaccinations to help get all students back to in-person classes for the first time since early 2020. Mere weeks into the effort, signs of another taxing year are emerging amid scattershot safety rules and rising Covid-19 among children. Over the past month, with kindergarten through 12th grade in session, the country has reported almost 1 million cases among those under 18. Though kids typically are less likely than adults to become severely ill with Covid, they increasingly are contracting the highly contagious delta variant. As of Sunday, 2,000 schools nationwide had closed — 18% more than a week earlier, according to the Burbio tracker.

The solution is vaccines. Pfizer Inc. and partner BioNTech SE on Monday reported strong outcomes in trials for 5-to-11-year-olds. But federal approval for the shots isn’t expected until late October at the earliest. Until then, some of the biggest districts are pledging to avoid a return to the online lessons that jammed parents who couldn’t work remotely, stressed tech-poor areas and worsened the nation’s academic inequality.

“Kids need to be in school — that sort of emerges as the consensus,” Jesse Sharkey, president of the Chicago Teachers Union, said in an interview. “You have to have layers of safety. What we’re seeing is a really uneven picture.” Preventing spread is not so simple in parts of the country where rules are relaxed or non-existent, as Republican governors and lawmakers invoke personal freedom or discount Covid’s health effects. In Utah, where school mask mandates are banned, aerospace executive Brad Plothow and his wife, Stefanie, are home-teaching their two younger children who are at risk for respiratory illness. Two older girls are attending classes in person: One is vaccinated, and the other, just shy of the age 12 minimum, is in a classroom running a pair of high-efficiency air purifiers bought by the Plothows. “When they come home, we’re nervous,” said Brad Plothow, 39, of Lehi, 30 miles (48 kilometers) from Salt Lake City. “They gargle, shower and spray down their backpacks. The thinking is: What are the vectors that could create a problem for our younger kids?” Three times over the past four weeks, the family received word of possible school exposure, but the girls tested negative. When federal approval comes through on shots for those under 12, Plothow said, all his kids will be protected. In South Carolina, where several school districts have gone virtual, state lawmakers from both parties are calling for a special legislative session to overturn a rule that forbids districts from requiring masks. But in a state that’s given enough vaccinations for just 52% of the population, Governor Henry McMaster, a Republican, says parents should make the decision.  “This school district, this county has done a grand job of using all the tools, all the information, and assimilating the data necessary to understand what we’re dealing with,” McMaster said on Sept. 15 during a tour of Camden Elementary School — 35 miles northeast of Columbia — which sanitizes surfaces and isolates students with high temperatures. Even multiple protection layers are no guarantee. New Jersey, with 130,000 teachers and 1.3 million kids in public and charter schools, requires masks and staff vaccinations, among other precautions. Of the seven schools forced to shut since in-person classes started, four have reopened and three remain virtual, state Education Commissioner Angelica Allen-McMillan said Wednesday at a Trenton virus briefing.

A Sept. 3 U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report on a Marin County, California, school traced at least two dozen cases to an unvaccinated teacher who had read aloud maskless. The outbreak occurred even though most staff had had shots and the school had followed CDC recommendations on masking, routine testing, building ventilating and staying home when symptomatic  “to ensure safe in-person learning in schools.” In recent days, a growing number of cases are driving some states to renew safety calls. In New York, where 54% of 12-to-17-year-olds are vaccinated, Governor Kathy Hochul on Tuesday called remote learning “an interesting experiment” that was “a disaster.” She urged parents in areas dense with schools to send vaccine-eligible youngsters to mobile sites set up near basketball courts and parks. “Keeping them unvaccinated during a global pandemic — which is not over yet, my friends — is something I can’t comprehend as a parent,” she said.  Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont is seeking to extend the statewide school mask mandate beyond Sept. 30. “A lot of families started moving to Connecticut because they wanted their kids in schools and we’re able to do that safely,” Lamont, a Democrat, said Tuesday on Bloomberg Television.

Nationally, at least 361 teachers have died of Covid-19 since the pandemic began in March 2020, according to a compilation by Education Week. New York City as of Wednesday has logged 91 deaths of teachers, food-service workers, secretaries and other school employees, according to its education department. In Manhattan, Public School 79 on Monday became the city’s first school this term to go remote after 19 staff members tested positive. “We still need everybody to wear masks — we need all of those layers there,” said Anna Bershteyn, an assistant professor at New York University Grossman School of Medicine’s population health department, who advised the city on its return to classrooms.

For the week ended Sept. 16, there were 226,000 child Covid cases, accounting for more than one-quarter of all U.S. positives, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Children’s Hospital Association.

Starved of Gas European Electricity Producers Snap Up Coal,,,,, Another Grennieewinnie wet dream UP IN SMOKE

https://youtu.be/iPWFqmgMt_g

(Bloomberg) — European electricity producers are snapping up coal cargoes as a shortage of natural gas forces utilities to burn the dirtiest of fossil fuels. A shipment for delivery next month at a major European hub traded at $200 a metric ton, the highest since 2008, according to traders who saw the transaction on the globalCOAL platform. Several utilities stepped into the market this week to secure supplies before the start of the winter, said the traders, who asked not to be identified because the deals are private.

Europe is facing an energy crunch after a long and cold winter left gas stockpiles depleted. Replenishing them hasn’t been easy, with limited supplies from Russia and Norway forcing Europe to fight for cargoes of liquefied natural gas in the spot market. Low wind speeds have compounded the continent’s energy woes, prompting utilities to turn to dirtier fossil fuels to bridge the shortfall.

“We are observing some tightness also in the coal market,” Marco Saalfrank, head of continental Europe merchant trading at Axpo Solutions AG, said in an interview at the Gastech conference in Dubai this week. Profits for coal-fired power plants have “turned positive, increasing the production.” Energy prices are soaring just as Europe is trying to push for a more ambitious climate deal when world leaders meet in Scotland later this year. Coal’s comeback is likely to make those talks difficult for politicians from the U.K. to Spain and Italy, which are already dealing with the fear of voter backlash from rising energy bills. The cargo of 50,000 metric tons that changed hands on Friday was for delivery in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp hub, traders said. And it’s not only spot prices that are rising, futures for next-year delivery also surged as much as 4.1% to $139 a ton, the highest since 2008. Rising demand from utilities is depleting stockpiles at European ports. Coal supplies have fallen as major producers Colombia and Indonesia have struggled with heavy rain, while some mines elsewhere have closed because of the pandemic. Investment in new mining projects has almost come to a halt in recent years, with banks cutting lending to coal companies as the world seeks to avert the worst effects of climate change. “Gas supply is short, coal supply is short and renewables aren’t going great and we are now in this crazy situation, it’s the only way we can describe it,” Dale Hazelton, head of thermal coal at Wood Mackenzie, said by phone from Singapore last week. NN: Is it not amazing how STUPID these people are. Here is a news flash solar in paces that are cloudy most of the winter do not work. And wind farms are as unpredictable as a millennial at a gay bar. They are against all fossil fuels including GODS gas… Plentiful Natural gas clean burning. Which is abundant enough to power every vehicle and fire every electric generation plant on the planet. All we got to do is tap the global fracking deposits and pipe the stuff to the plants. Did you know that England and Germany that are facing an elective shortage are burning more and more coal. Did you know both countries have a ban on fracking their vast natural gas deposits… Its like the grennieewinnie electric mobile… Its basically a remote coal powered electric motor…….

At-home COVID-19 test kits sold out across America….. We have inventory

Struggling to find coronavirus test? You’re not alone, thanks to the delta variant
When COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations plummeted in late spring, many large, government-run testing sites from Los Angeles to New York switched to vaccinations or shut down.

That was before the highly contagious delta variant became the dominant coronavirus strain, accelerating cases, hospitalizations and deaths. Americans are getting checked for the virus at a pace of more than 1 million tests each day, according to Johns Hopkins University. Some experts said it’s harder to find testing appointments than it was last winter, when large, drive-thru sites fueled more than 2 million daily tests.

Consumers can test themselves with rapid antigen kits sold at national chain pharmacies and retailers, but they’re selling as fast as they are stocked. Antigen test makers scaled back manufacturing this spring and are hustling to fire up factories to meet rising demand.

“Everyone assumed when we got to April and May there wouldn’t be a need for widespread testing,” said Michael Osterholm, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota. Some worry the high percentage of positive tests in the USA means too many people are foregoing testing because it’s too hard to get an appointment. More than 10% of U.S. residents who have been tested for the coronavirus since the first week of August were infected. That’s double the World Health Organization’s benchmark for sufficient testing, according to Johns Hopkins University. When the positive rate is higher than the WHO’s target rate of 5%, that might mean only the sickest individuals are getting tested, and others who show minor or no symptoms are spreading the virus without knowing it. “Positivity has climbed to highs that we haven’t seen since the big winter surge,” said Jennifer Nuzzo, an epidemiologist and senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security. “Positivity for me, above all, is a measure of whether we are doing enough testing. As it starts to creep up, that suggests we need to cast a wider and wider net to find infections.” In addition to the delta variant, several factors appear to be influencing the uptick in testing. Some large school districts are testing incoming students, teachers and staff as the fall semester begins. More employers mandate that workers either get vaccinated or submit to periodic testing. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said even vaccinated people should get tested if they’re exposed to someone with COVID-19, a reversal from its earlier guidance. Many sites had shut down. Others had limited hours and required appointments. Demand is “comparatively high” at labs in the Southeast and Southwest, where the New Jersey-based company said it will add testing capacity to keep pace. A company spokesman said Abbott seeks to “scale up on a dime” to make enough BinaxNow tests for retailers such as CVS and Walgreens. The kit is for sale on Amazon, but it could take up to three weeks to get one. “We’re hiring people and turning on parts of our manufacturing network that were idled or slowed when guidance changed and demand plunged,” Abbott spokesman John Koval said. “While there will be some supply constraints over the coming weeks as we ramp back up, we are putting resources from all over the company to help meet this unprecedented demand.” Quidel CEO Douglas Bryant said retail sales for the San Diego-based company’s home coronavirus tests have increased tenfold over the past few weeks. “We’re obviously ramping up manufacturing again,” he said. Like others, Quidel anticipated less testing this spring and summer. The company must contact its suppliers and reorder material. Those suppliers, in turn, must hire workers and restart production. “All of the manufacturers, including ourselves, are in a state of flux,” Bryant said. “We’re trying to pivot and trying to react quickly, doing the best we can without a whole lot of real understanding of what’s going to be needed.” NN: We are in stock of both the BinaxNOW and the QuickView home test kits kit. Our inventory is around 150 units. Stock up now because all out sources are back ordered, In fact they are not taking orders or giving us a delivery date. Retailers like Amazon, Walmart and CVS pharmacy have stopped online sales and if you can find inventory you must go all the way to the store and are limited to one test kit. STOCK UP TODAY

Cuba starts to reopen economy as COVID-19 vaccine campaign races ahead

HAVANA, Sept 24 (Reuters) – Cuba is allowing a staggered opening from Friday of restaurants, shopping centers and beaches in provinces that have lowered coronavirus cases even as it battles some of the highest nationwide rates of infection per capita worldwide. The easing of lockdown restrictions coincides with preparations by the cash-strapped Caribbean island nation for its tourist high season, which it hopes will bring much-needed dollars to palliate a dire economic crisis. The government has already announced it will allow more flights and accept COVID-19 vaccination certificates for inbound travelers in lieu of a PCR test from November. “In recent days we have determined the conditions are there to gradually reopen many of these in-person services,” said Interior Commerce Minister Betsy Diaz. Health officials said coronavirus infections started falling in September from their peak over the summer months as they raced to vaccinate more than 90% of the population by mid November with their home-grown COVID-19 vaccines. They have already vaccinated 86.5 % of the 2.2 million inhabitants in Havana, where they started the campaign. Authorities have selected 533 businesses that may now open to in-person service in the capital including 315 restaurants. Until now eateries had only been allowed to do delivery. Earlier this month Cuba asked the World Health Organization to start the evaluation process toward officially recognizing its vaccines, which would be a major recognition given data from late phase trials has not yet been published in peer reviewed journals.
Yet in the near term, the virus is overwhelming healthcare facilities in provinces that started their vaccination campaigns after Havana, despite the return of hundreds of doctors from missions abroad to reinforce staffing. On top of the pandemic-induced crisis, Cuba is dealing with shortages of medicines in an economy struggling with a decline in aid from ally Venezuela, a tightening of decades-old U.S. sanctions and the reduction of tourism revenue. NN: For all intents and purposes Cuban cigars have sold out in Europe. and England. I know Cuba, it is a closed commie dictatorship. But they sure have hot Latino women and make the best cigars in the world. Nothing has changed in how they grow the tobacco or roll the cigars in hundreds of years. When you go to the factory their is not a machine to be seen. Hundreds of workers all sitting in rows at tables. see the video below. True information about Cuba is rare. Reality Cuban has been shut down because of the covid19 plague. The variants and like the US they failed to give the booster shot quick enough. All of Cuba’s vaccine candidates—Abdala, Soberana 1, Soberana 2, Soberana Plus, and Mambisa, are subunit protein vaccines, like the Novavax vaccine. Crucially, the vaccines do not require extreme refrigeration, are cheap to produce, and are easy for the country to manufacture at scale. They are made by fermentation in mammalian cells, a process Cuba already uses for monoclonal antibodies. The island’s national regulatory agency approved the Abdala vaccine on 9 July, making Cuba the first Latin American country to develop a successful covid-19 vaccine. The Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices reports that Abdala is 92% efficacious after three doses. Moreover, three other vaccine candidates are still in the pipeline, including Soberana 2, which the agency says is 91% effective when combined with a booster vaccine called Soberana Plus. Those too are expected to receive regulatory approval in the coming weeks.

Dow, S&P 500 end with gains up after bumpy week, but Nike drags

The Dow and S&P 500 ended a choppy session Friday with minor gains, extending their winning streak to a third day. Gains in financial and tech shares offset a downbeat sales forecast from Nike. The Dow and S&P inched up roughly a tenth of a percent, but the Nasdaq closed flat. Despite a steep sell-off on Monday sparked by fears of a default by developer China Evergrande, the markets recovered to eke out small gains for the week. Evergrande missed its key interest payment Thursday, but American investors took the news in stride Friday, which surprised TD Ameritrade Chief Market Strategist JJ Kinahan. “It really is amazing. Again, going back to what I said earlier, it shows the power of the Fed at everything. That being said, I think as an investor, you can’t look at what went on with China Evergrande and just say, ‘Oh Monday. It’s over. Time to move on.’” China’s central bank banned the trading and mining of cryptocurrencies. That yanked down the price of bitcoin and other cryptos, as well as digital currency-related companies such as Coinbase Global, MicroStrategy, and Riot Blockchain. NN: It was the typical bear trap this week. Now you know why this raging bear is standing aside. You might note every major investment bank declared that the correction would be 20% or more. For now the millennials have been taught to buy the dips, borrow more  and have no fear. They believe that a correction is 5% and a buying opportunity. As far as their experience and knowledge base goes the days of market corrections are over,,,, because the FED has their back. We both know this will end badly. But we must have three 3 key events kick in:

  1. The Fed soon raising rates when they get desperate and realize that they started a consumer inflation fire storm.
  2. They bring this over stimulation to a end that has created bubbles. Real estate, the stock markets and debt markets have been flooded with liquidity… Their is no reality in market  valuations.
  3. Shutdowns not to be confused with lock downs. The plague is still with us with more virulant mutations coming in waves, To open the economy  ie Travel, restaurants, crowd fests and  schools is a mistake of biblical proportions,

The unfortunate decision  of not rolling out vaccines to the kiddies.  Coupled with the confusion and delay in the third vaccine means they have created what will be the most devastating wave of the plague to date.

The economy and markets will be devastated,,,,,,,

Biden tells 60 MILLION Americans to get booster shots

Biden tells 60 MILLION Americans to get booster shots after CDC director overruled advisers to expand approval for third Pfizer shots – and president, 78, says he will get his
  • Biden urged Americans over 65 and with certain medical conditions or jobs to get booster shots
  • ‘I’ll be getting my booster shot,’ said Biden, 78
  • Frontline workers and those with medical conditions like diabetes are encouraged to get jabs under new CDC guidance
  • CDC Director Rochelle Walensky intervened to expand eligibility

President Joe Biden is telling a group of some 60 million Americans who got the Pfizer vaccine and meet other conditions to get booster shots, after a Centers for Disease Control panel gave the recommendation.

‘You’re over 65 years of age, go get a booster. Or if you have a medical condition like diabetes, or you’re a frontline worker like a health care worker or a teacher, you can get a free booster now,’ Biden said in remarks at the White House Friday.

Biden made the comment after CDC Director Rochelle Walensky overruled her own agency’s advisory panel in a rare move late Thursday night and added a recommendation for COVID-19 vaccine boosters for people at risk because of their jobs. The change added millions of additional Americans to the guidance.  Her move came after the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) said third doses should only be for Americans aged 65 and older and those with underlying conditions after six months.

Walensky disagreed and put that recommendation back in, noting that such a move aligns with a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) booster authorization decision earlier this week. The panel recommended the third dose only for those 65 and over and with certain medical conditions.

The category she included covers people who live in institutional settings that increase their risk of exposure, such as prisons or homeless shelters, as well as healthcare workers, teachers and grocery store employees.

‘As CDC Director, it is my job to recognize where our actions can have the greatest impact,’ Walensky wrote in a statement.

Biden also pledged to get his own shot as soon as possible.

‘ll be getting my booster shot,’ he said, then made a joke about his own age. ‘Hard to acknowledge I’m over 65. But I’ll be getting my booster shot. It’s a bear isn’t it? I’ll tell you. But all kidding aside from getting my booster shot. I’m not sure exactly when I’m going to do it. As soon as I can get it,’ said Biden, 78.

‘Like your first and second shot. The booster shot is free and easily accessible,’ Biden said at the White House.

Biden got his second Pfizer-BioNTech dose in January before taking office.

Boosters will be available for people 65 and older, people at high risk of severe disease or of contracting COVID-19 through their work, and who were vaccinated six months ago with the Pfizer Inc and BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT COVID-19 BOOSTERS INCLUDING WHAT THEY ARE AND WHO SHOULD GET THEM

By Mary Kekatos, Acting U.S. Health Editor for DailyMail.com

What are COVID-19 vaccine boosters?

A booster shot is given at least six months after people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

It is meant to prolong immunity and give a ‘boost’ to the immune system to create higher levels of antibodies against the virus.

Is vaccine protection waning?

Not necessarily, although this topic is hotly debated.

Some people have weakened immune systems, either due to medical conditions or to age, that have left them unable to mount a full immune response to the first doses.

Some studies have found that vaccine protection does decrease after more than four months, which is common with several other immunizations.

However, health officials insist that vaccines are still highly effective against the most severe outcomes from COVID-19, including hospitalization and death.

Who is currently eligible?

Last month, boosters were authorized for Americans with compromised immune systems.

This week, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expanded that authorization to specific at-risk groups.

These include people aged 65 and older, long-term care facility residents and people aged 18 to 64 at high risk of severe COVID-19 due to underlying medical conditions.

Although the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) advisory committee recommended that boosters not be for people at high risk due to their jobs or other factors, CDC director Dr Rochelle Walensky overruled this decision and sided with the FDA.

This means people who are at high-risk of severe illness due to their occupations – such as healthcare workers, teachers and grocery store employees – and those who live in institutional settings that increase their risk of exposure, such as prisons or homeless shelters, are also eligible.

Which COVID-19 vaccine booster can I get?

Right now, only recommended groups who received two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, and were given their final shot at least six months ago, can get booster shots.

Pfizer’s booster shot is exactly the same – both ingredients-wise and dosage (30 micrograms) – as the first two doses.

What if I received the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine?

Moderna has submitted an application to the FDA asking that its booster shot be authorized while Johnson & Johnson is expected to do so soon.

Because of this, recipients of either of these two vaccines are not eligible to receive boosters yet.

President Joe Biden said on Thursday that scientists are still examining data for boosters shots from the two companies.

‘Our doctors and scientists are working day and night to analyze the data from those two organizations on whether and when you need a booster shot, and we’ll provide updates for you as the process moves ahead,’ he said.

Can I mix and match?

Currently, federal health officials do not recommend getting a booster shot made by a different vaccine manufacturer than that of your initial doses.

This means that Moderna and Johnson & Johnson recipients are not recommended to get a booster dose from Pfizer and vice-versa.

Biden said 60 million people were now eligible for the third shot, while also reiterating his appeal to the more than 70 million Americans who have not gotten a single shot.

‘Listen to the voices of the unvaccinated Americans who are lying in hospital beds, taking their final breaths, saying… ‘If only I got vaccinated,” Biden said. ‘People are dying and will die who don’t have to die.’

Biden had called for booster shots against the novel coronavirus to begin this week for all people once they were eight months out from vaccination, pending regulators’ approval. But the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention only this week cleared the way for a subset, though they did broaden the time frame for eligibility by two months. Biden administration officials have said they would follow the science on additional vaccines and had set the week of Sept. 20 as a goal in order to prepare for more inoculations.Regulators’ decision applies only to the Pfizer vaccine and those who received it at least six months earlier. The FDA has yet to weigh Moderna Inc’s application for boosters and Johnson & Johnson Inc. has not yet filed an application ‘We’re also looking to the time when we’re going to be able to expand the booster shots, basically across the board,’ Biden said.Health experts have cautioned people against mixing various brands of vaccine, citing the lack of data.
