The vessels allegedly switched off their navigation systems and, ignoring warnings from the Iranian control base, intended to exit the Strait of Hormuz via an “unsafe route.” The military said that two of them then “faced an accident and were stopped in their tracks,” while the other two abandoned the route. “Vessels that are influenced by the words of the American enemy and enter the unsafe route will certainly face an accident,” the statement warned, repeating that “not a single drop of oil, gas, or chemical fertilizer” will pass through the strait without Tehran’s permission.
