The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced it carried out strikes on Iranian military sites for an eighth straight night. CENTCOM said US forces struck Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) units linked to attacks on US service members in Jordan on Friday. The targets included coastal surveillance systems, air defenses, naval capabilities and missile and drone storage facilities.
Iran says it struck two US bases in Kuwait
Iranian forces attacked two US military bases in Kuwait on Sunday, targeting ammunition depots and air-defense radar systems, Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported. The strikes were described as retaliation for recent US attacks on Iranian cities. Iran said American operations had hit Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Hajiabad, and Qeshm Island near the Strait of Hormuz.
Hegseth eulogizes US soldiers killed in Jordan
United States Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth declared that the “sacrifice” made by US troops who were killed in an Iranian strike in Jordan would only “stiffen” Washington’s resolve. “Godspeed, heroes,” Hegseth wrote shortly after US Central Command confirmed the fatalities, while declaring an additional soldier to be missing. Washington had previously denied any US casualties since the resumption of full-scale war with Iran.
