Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Daniel Hagari claimed on Tuesday that the drone used by Yemeni Houthis in the recent assault in central Israel’s Tel Aviv was an Iranian Samad-3 UAV that had been upgraded to be able to fly from Yemen to Israel. “Our defense is not airtight,” he said while adding that another drone had been intercepted by the joint American-Israeli task force. However, Hagari mentioned that the IDF is investigating why the other unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was not recognized as a threat. “The signs are increasing as to the success of the elimination of Muhammed Deif [Hamas No. 2],” he concluded.
