The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Friday that they killed Mohammad Rashid Sakafi, the head of Hezbollah’s communication networks. According to the military, he was targeted in one of the recent Beirut airstrikes. The IDF described Sakafi as being close to top Hezbollah officials and having “a lot of experience and authority in the organization,” having held the position since 2000. He was allegedly in charge of communication between different units and formations within Hezbollah to ensure a “continuous flow of information,” including in emergencies.
Khamenei: Iran won’t delay nor rush action on Israel
Iran will not “delay nor rush” to take action against Israel, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated on Friday during his sermon in Iran’s capital of Tehran. Khamenei addressed different Muslim nations, saying they have a “common enemy” and that they must prepare their defense. “The policies adopted by our enemy is to sow the seeds of division and sedition, to drive a wedge among all the Muslims. They are the same enemies to the Palestinians, Lebanese, Egyptians, and the Iraqis. They are the enemy of the Yemeni and Syrian people,” Khamenei stated. The Iranian leader also claimed that the October 7 attack and Iran’s recent attack on Israel were “legitimate” and added Tehran will be ready to take such action again if “necessary,” noting that every country has the right to defend itself against “the ultimate tyranny.”
