European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas announced on Sunday that the bloc will follow the United Nations’ decision to reimpose its sanctions on Iran due to the country’s alleged lack of commitment to its nuclear obligations. “I urge Iran to fully resume cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency without delay, in line with its legal obligations under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), and its binding Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement,” Kallas said in a statement. Still, Kallas stressed that the EU will not cut its diplomatic ties to Iran and noted the importance of solving the crisis through dialogue.
