The price of crude oil futures rose by more than 1% on Monday after the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) reported it is continuing with its attacks on the “Iran-backed” rebel group Houthis in Yemen. Investors also focused on the potential 30-day ceasefire deal with Ukraine and Russia ahead of the conversation between US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, which is set to take place tomorrow. West Texas Intermediate for deliveries in April increased by 1.10% at 5:31 am ET, selling for $67.92 per barrel. Meanwhile, Brent for settlements in May climbed by 1.11% at 5:33 am ET to trade for $71.36 per barrel.
