Rubio: Nuclear Iran ‘unacceptable’ risk

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio underlined on Monday that a potential “nuclear Iran … is an unacceptable risk.” Speaking to reporters with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by his side, Rubio stressed that Iran’s “desire” to possess not only nuclear armaments, but also short and mid-range missiles is a threat “not just for Israel [or] the United States, but for the world.” Rubio went on to say that Washington will continue its “maximum pressure” on Tehran, “until they change course.” He reiterated that the US is happy to see its European partners “begin the process of snapping back sanctions.

Kallas slams Russian drones breaching Romania’s airspace….. Putin starts ‘WW3’ war games as Poland seals east border & deploys 40,000 troops

European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas slammed on Sunday the violation of Romanian airspace by Russian drones as “unacceptable.”

“This continued reckless escalation threatens regional security. We stand in solidarity with Romania. I am in close contact with the Romanian government,” Kallas posted on her X account.

Earlier today, Romania’s Ministry of National Defense announced that its air forces intercepted unmanned aerial vehicles in the country’s airspace. Looks like war to me

Fearful of Russian aggression, Poles flock to military training

BRANIEWO, Poland, Sept 13 (Reuters) – Six kilometres from the Russian border in northern Poland, office administrator Agnieszka Jedruszak is digging a trench. Driven by fear of war with Russia, she wants to be able to defend her family, including her 13-year-old son. Thousands of Poles like Jedruszak are signing up for voluntary military training as Poland’s army seeks to fill its ranks with professional and voluntary personnel amid escalating concerns over Russia’s military aggression. “I’d do anything to keep my child safe. And I would definitely want to fight to protect him,” said Jedruszak, dressed in military fatigues, her face painted in camouflage colours. For many in Poland – which endured decades of Moscow’s domination under the Soviet Union – the fear of Russian hostility looms large. Those concerns have only grown this week after Poland downed Russian drones in its airspace on Wednesday – the first time a member of the NATO military alliance is known to have fired shots during Russia’s war in Ukraine. The Kremlin this week accused Western countries of an ’emotional overload’ and hostility towards Russia, opens new tab, which it said posed no threat to them. It has declined to comment on the drone incident.
Fearful of the threat from the east, Poland launched in May last year a 400-mile-long “East Shield” fortification along its borders with Belarus and the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad – combining long stretches of anti-tank barriers known as “hedgehogs” with advanced surveillance and electronic warfare systems Tusk’s government is also relocating military units to the east to tap into stronger recruitment goals.
That’s dwarfed by the size of Russia’s army, which President Vladimir Putin ordered in September to be increased by 180,000 troops to 1.5 million active servicemen.
Poland’s shrinking and aging population presents a challenge, opens new tab, but officials hope that the fresh initiatives will help overcome them. While some other European members of NATO, including Finland and the Baltic states, have also grown their military ranks, traditional European powers like Germany and Britain have struggled. Trump’s scepticism toward NATO and opposition to Ukraine’s membership have prompted allies to reassess their defence strategies. European nations have acknowledged the growing threat and have increased their military spending, including through regional defence initiatives like SAFE.
But an analysis in June by Atlantic Council, opens new tab, a Washington-based think tank, concluded that NATO’s ability to respond to Russian aggression remains heavily reliant on U.S. capabilities – especially for fighter jets, missiles and air defence systems. Moreover, unlike Russia, most European armies lack robust reserve components, making it difficult to sustain heavy losses over extended period.

RUSSIA READY TO ATTACK FORMER SOVIET STATES

When Russia invaded Ukraine the last time just like now they started amassing troops at the border for what they said where war games. Just like now their were “accidental” incursions. And its deja vu all over again as NATO and the US do nothing to stop them except for flapping their jaws.

Russia always test the waters first. Russian Troops and advanced rocket and drone launchers are amassing in war games called Zapad-2025″ being held by the armed forces of Russia and Belarus The Russian invasion of Poland,  Lithuania and Romania has begun. With drone attacks in the last 48 hours on these former Soviet client states testing NATO’S resolve. As usual NATO’S  response has been a joke. And Russians intent of spreading of this war is obvious.

Lets not make the same mistakes again. Many of you did not believe Russian war games would lead to a Russian invasion. Because NATO assured Ukraine It had its back and Russia would not dare a invasion.

DON’T BE Wrong again! on February 24, 2022, Russia attached Ukraine. Look what happened:

Ukraine hits one of Russia’s largest oil refineries

Kiev’s military intelligence agency on Saturday confirmed that a Ukrainian drone struck one of Russia’s largest oil refineries roughly 1,400 kilometres from the Ukraine border.Head of Russia’s Bashkortostan region, Radiy Khabirov, said on Telegram that the attack caused minor damage to the refinery. “Today, Bashneft’s facility was subjected to a terrorist attack by aircraft-type drones … There were no casualties or injuries. The production site sustained minor damage, and a fire broke out, which is currently being extinguished,” he added.

Poland scrambles jets, helicopters amid Russian drone threat….. again1

Poland’s Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk announced that helicopters and fighter jets were deployed due to Russian unmanned aerial vehicles operating near the Polish border. “In connection with the operation of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles near the border of the Republic of Poland, the operational commander has decided to scramble helicopters and fighter jets. We are in constant contact with our allies,” Tomczyk wrote in X on Saturday. Russia previously stated that it did not want to escalate tensions with Poland after Warsaw and its allies accused Moscow of intentionally violating its airspace with drones. Following the incursion, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Poland was the closest it has come to an armed conflict since World War II.

War games involving Russia and Belarus start this week

The last time Russia and Belarus held major joint military drills in 2022, Moscow sent its troops into Ukraine just days later. Now the two close allies are conducting war games again, raising tensions anew in the region The war games, dubbed “Zapad 2025,” or “West 2025,” take place in Belarus starting Friday and will last until Sept. 16. Troops from both countries will simulate repelling an attack, including airstrikes and sabotage, according to official reports. The aim is to showcase the close links between Moscow and Minsk, as well as Russian military might amid its 3½-year-old war in neighboring Ukraine.

The war games have drawn concerns in Kyiv and its Western allies of Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, which border Belarus.

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent troops rolling into Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, many of them crossing from Belarus. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said this year’s exercise “hinders peaceful efforts” by U.S. President Donald Trump to end the war and “poses an immediate threat not only to Ukraine, but also to Poland, the Baltic states and all of Europe.” On Wednesday, tensions in the region spiked even further after

Poland said multiple Russian drones entered its territory and were shot down with help from NATO allies. A significant number came from Belarus, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said.

Belarusian defense officials initially said about 13,000 troops would participate in the exercise that was to take place near its western border. In May, however, its Defense Ministry said the number would be cut nearly in half, and that the main maneuvers would take place deeper inside the country. Parts of the exercise will also take place inside Russia. Last month, Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said most of the exercise will happen around the city of Barysaw, about 74 kilometers (46 miles) northeast of Minsk, although some “small units will carry out practical tasks to repel a hypothetical enemy” in areas close to the border with Poland and Lithuania. Two of five new fortifications that have been erected for the drills also are located in those areas, Khrenin said. Belarus also sent formal invitations to all member states of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and nine countries with NATO military attaches in Minsk to monitor the drills. The past year has seen regular releases of political prisoners and public calls for a rapprochement with the West. Lukashenko spoke by phone last month with Trump, who called him a “highly respected President” in a social media post. That’s a stark contrast from other Western leaders, who have largely shunned the Belarusian. During this year’s drills, the troops will practice “planning the use of” Russian nuclear weapons and nuclear-capable intermediate range missiles that Moscow has promised to supply to Minsk, according to Khrenin. In December, Lukashenko and Putin signed a treaty giving security guarantees to Belarus, including the possible use of Russian nuclear weapons to help repel any aggression. Even before the Polish drone incursion, Tusk said Tuesday the Zapad exercises constituted “very aggressive” military maneuvers “very close” to his country’s border, accompanied by “provocations” by Russia and Belarus. Poland is responding with its own military exercises. Tusk added that the Suwalki Gap — a strategic stretch of land in Poland and Lithuania that separates Belarus from Russia’s Baltic Sea exclave of Kaliningrad — was one of the targets of Zapad, and he suggested there was a fear in Poland that they might be practice for a later attack.  Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy repeatedly has warned that Russia might be plotting another attack during the drills.

Trump Backs New Sanctions When NATO Stops Buying Russian Oil

US President Donald Trump said he’s prepared to move ahead with “major” sanctions on Russian oil if NATO countries do the same. Trump, a day after he said he was losing patience with President Vladimir Putin over the war in Ukraine, said he’s “ready to do major Sanctions on Russia when all NATO Nations have agreed, and started, to do the same thing, and when all NATO Nations STOP BUYING OIL FROM RUSSIA,” in a post on his Truth Social site early Saturday. Many European nations have cut back or stopped purchasing Russian oil, but several NATO allies — including Hungary — have blocked more stringent proposals by the European Union to target Russia’s energy sector. Bloomberg reported on Friday that the US planned to urge allies in the Group of Seven to impose tariffs as high as 100% on China and India for their purchases of Russian oil, as part of an effort to convince Putin to end Russia’s invasion of its neighbor. “This, plus NATO, as a group, placing 50% to 100% TARIFFS ON CHINA, to be fully withdrawn after the WAR with Russia and Ukraine is ended, will also be of great help in ENDING this deadly, but RIDICULOUS, WAR,” Trump wrote. Trump has at times adopted a softer tone toward China as he continues to push for a summit with President Xi Jinping and a trade deal with the world’s second-largest economy. And any move to impose sanctions on China would likely draw a strong retaliatory response from Beijing and disrupt the tentative trade war truce between the US and China. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer are set to meet with Chinese officials in Madrid in the coming days. G-7 finance ministers discussed how to increase pressure on Russia during a meeting on Friday.

Up to now, Trump has resisted adding new sanctions on Russia as he pursued peace talks with Putin. But, after holding a summit with Putin in Alaska that failed to yield any pause in Russia’s military operations in Ukraine, Trump was unable to arrange a three-way meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. In recent days, there have been increasing signs that Trump’s patience with Putin is wearing thin, particularly with Russia conducting several days of dramatic airstrikes in Kyiv in the wake of the Alaska meeting. “As you know, NATO’S commitment to WIN has been far less than 100%, and the purchase of Russian Oil, by some, has been shocking! It greatly weakens your negotiating position, and bargaining power, over Russia,” he added. Hungarian President Viktor Orban, a Trump ally who has also maintained close ties with Putin, has shown little willingness to shift his opposition to sanctions on Russian oil. The country has a contract with Russia’s Gazprom PJSC for 4.5 billion cubic meters a year that runs until 2036, which has been supplemented with additional purchases since 2022.

Trump calls for 50%-100% China tariffs, major Russia sanctions

US President Donald Trump called for tariffs of 50%-100% on China until the Russia-Ukraine war is over. In a letter to all NATO countries posted on Saturday, he added that he’s ready to impose major sanctions on Russia, but only when all NATO countries agree on the same sanctions and when they cease oil purchases from Russia.

“I am ready to do major Sanctions on Russia when all NATO Nations have agreed, and started, to do the same thing, and when all NATO Nations STOP BUYING OIL FROM RUSSIA,”

the letter posted on Truth Social read. ” I believe that this, plus NATO, as a group, placing 50% to 100% TARIFFS ON CHINA, to be fully withdrawn after the WAR with Russia and Ukraine is ended, will also be of great help in ENDING this deadly, but RIDICULOUS, WAR,” he continued.

Trump said to be doubting his ability to influence Putin

US President Donald Trump has recently started to question his ability to influence Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to a report published on Saturday by Axios. The outlet also stated that Trump has admitted to his close associates that he misjudged Putin’s desire for peace and denied that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to influence him.Over a month ago, Trump threatened to punish Putin severely if he did not implement a ceasefire in Ukraine or make meaningful progress toward peace during their summit in Alaska. Since then, Russia has escalated its attacks on civilians in Ukrainian cities.

Rutte: NATO to bolster posture along eastern flank

North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary General Mark Rutte announced on Friday that the alliance agreed to bolster its posture “even further” along its eastern flank after Russia’s alleged drone intrusion into Poland’s territory in a project titled Eastern Sentry. Speaking at a press conference at the group’s headquarters, Rutte stressed that Russian “recklessness” near the eastern flank is “increasing in frequency,” as similar incidents were reported earlier in Romania and across the Baltic. He noted that the entry of Russian drones into Poland, which Russia said was unintentional, was “intentional or not, dangerous” and “unacceptable.” Rutte said that, after Poland invoked Article 4, NATO convened for a meeting and reaffirmed its commitment to defending every member against any security risk that might arise. “We must, as NATO, must make clear our resolve and our ability to defend our territory,” he stressed.
