Update: At least 12 U.S. service members were killed in the Afghanistan bombings, including 11 Marines and one Navy corpsman, according to two U.S. officials, the Associated Press reports. Officials say a number of US military troops were wounded. They warn, however, that the numbers may grow.

Third blast heard near Kabul airport – reports
A third explosion was heard near Afghanistan’s Hamid Karzai International Airport, hours after two previous suicide attacks have occurred. According to Fox News reports, cumulatively the bombings took away at least 10 US marines’ lives, while dozens of American service members have been wounded. Alarm sirens are heard across Kabul as the Taliban warns civilians to not leave homes and allegedly cuts of cell network to prevent further bombings that could be set off with a phone.
