Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar expressed on Tuesday his uncertainty about whether Hamas will accept the peace plan that the United States created and his country accepted. “We know, according to the past, that they usually want to open and close, try changing the terms, and to escape from implementing. But we will see,” Saar said at a press conference during a diplomatic visit to Belgrade. He stressed that Israel remains committed to its goals – to eliminate Hamas, which is aligned with the US’s peace plan. Additionally, Saar claimed that Hamas is “solely responsible” for the fact that the conflict in Gaza has not ended yet. Earlier in the week, US President Donald Trump presented a 20-point peace plan for Gaza, which envisions ending the conflict, Hamas laying down weapons in exchange for amnesty, and the strip being ruled by a transitional body, among other developments.
