The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said a container ship reported damage after a “suspected but unknown projectile” struck the vessel about 25 nautical miles northwest of Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). “Extent of the damage is currently unknown but under investigation by the crew,” the UKMTO said. It added that all crew members are safe and accounted for. The maritime agency urged vessels moving through the area to “transit with caution and report any suspicious activity.”
