Stocks were mixed at the end of trading on Wall Street on Monday with the Dow Jones rising over 300 points. On the other hand, the Nasdaq 100 dropped nearly 3% as tech shares retreated.
In the aftermath of the passage of the $1.9 trillion coronavirus stimulus package, the Dow shot up to a new all-time high earlier in the session.
The Dow closed 306 points in the green or 0.97% as the Walt Disney Company led the gains throughout the session. Officials in California eased some COVID-19 restrictions, boosting Disney’s shares as its Disneyland theme park is set to reopen in April. The S&P 500 was down 0.54%, while the Nasdaq 100 dropped 2.92%. Chinese internet companies Pinduoduo and Baidu plunged during the session. Nick Note: I cannot be any cleared here. GO FOR BROKE!
