The White House unveiled on Monday US President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan to end the Gaza war, proposing an immediate ceasefire and a framework for US-brokered dialogue between Israel and Palestinians for long-term coexistence.
“If both sides agree to this proposal, the war will immediately end. Israeli forces will withdraw to the agreed upon line to prepare for a hostage release. During this time, all military operations, including aerial and artillery bombardment, will be suspended, and battle lines will remain frozen,” the draft showed. “There will be a process of demilitarization of Gaza under the supervision of independent monitors.”
Under the agreement, Israel will free 1,700 inmates and 250 prisoners serving life sentences in exchange for the return of all hostages, both living and dead. Residents of Gaza are free to remain, depart, or return to the enclave and Israel will not annex or occupy the territory, the document added.
