United States intelligence agencies detected “in recent weeks” an alleged Iranian plot to try to assassinate former United States President Donald Trump, CNN reported on Tuesday, citing multiple sources. The outlet added that the Secret Service ramped up security measures around the Republican nominee in response to intelligence findings and that there was no evidence linking Thomas Matthew Crooks, the individual who attempted on Trump’s life, to the alleged plot. It remains “not clear” if the threat was shared with the Trump campaign. NN: Now they reveal there was indeed a plot to assassinate Trump. And it was not Bullseye Biden but the Iranians. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) increased (ha ha ha) former United States President and the Republican nominee in the 2024 election Donald Trump’s security due to Iran’s alleged plot to assassinate him, Fox News reported on Tuesday, citing two people familiar with the matter. The sources did not disclose the level of seriousness of Iran’s plot but said that the Department of Homeland Security and Secret Service have expressed concerns about Trump holding outdoor rallies. Trump Jr. says ‘serious breach’ in security PA rally

Donald Trump Jr. questioned on Tuesday the effectiveness of the security protocols followed in the Pennsylvania rally where his father former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt, Axios reported. Trump Jr. said that for the shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks to have reached the roof and have enough time to position himself targeting his father there must have been “a serious breach of something.” He stated one of the questions to be solved by investigations is how the person went up the building, was seen by the people and there was no action to prevent the attack.

“A guy does not get on a rooftop with a rifle where there’s people, and now I’ve seen the videos for five minutes saying ‘there’s a guy on a rooftop with a gun […] It literally doesn’t happen, I’ve shot with these guys, I came from a competitive shooting background, … that doesn’t happen without a serious breach of something,”

Netanyahu states intention to intensify pressure on Hamas

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Tuesday his intention to intensify the military pressure against Hamas to release all the hostages regardless of their state and to reach his administration’s war goals. As part of his speech at a memorial ceremony for Israeli fallen soldiers a decade ago, Netanyahu stated that “this is exactly the time to further increase the pressure.” Minutes earlier, the Israeli forces claimed they had killed half of the leaders of Hamas’ military wing as well as about 14,000 members of the group since October 7. In addition, Netanyahu said his country has “no intention” to lose against the hostilities that the “fanatical regime in Iran” has launched against it “as a step towards taking over the Middle East.”

Oil prices down over 1% on demand jitters

The price of crude oil for front-month contracts declined on Tuesday after underwhelming digits on China’s gross domestic product seemingly rekindled concerns about the country’s economic recovery, fueling uncertainty about the commodity’s demand of the world’s second-largest importer. Industrial production across the euro area slowed in May, further exacerbating worries about crude consumption on global markets. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for August settlements dropped 1.56% to go for $80.59 per barrel at 7:35 am ET. Brent for September deliveries fell 1.43% to $83.60 a barrel.

Biden Says ‘Open Question’ If Secret Service Erred in Shooting

President Joe Biden said he felt safe, but there were questions about whether the US Secret Service should have done more to anticipate the assassination attempt on Donald Trump. “The question is should they have anticipated what happened or should they have done what they needed to prevent this from happening? That’s an open question,” Biden said in an interview with NBC News on Monday.

Biden said a “major piece” of the inquiry into the shooting at a rally in Pennsylvania related to local law enforcement agencies and what role they played in securing the site. What bullshit. this is a secret service bit of intrigue.

Separately, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle said the agency’s failure to protect Trump from being wounded Saturday at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, was “unacceptable” and “something that shouldn’t happen again.” This wok bitch needs to go

While Cheatle said she didn’t plan to resign, she did say there would be “immediate changes” to protocols including expanding “tactical support” for Trump during an interview with ABC News. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who oversees the Secret Service, said earlier Monday that he also planned to bolster the details of the president and Vice President Kamala Harris while extending protection to JD Vance, Trump’s newly selected running mate. “Adjustments have been made to the former president’s detail, to the current president’s detail, as well as to the vice president’s detail,” the Homeland Security chief told reporters. Mayorkas declined to elaborate specifically on what changes had taken place, citing security concerns. Biden also acknowledged the changes, saying it could impact his – and other candidates’ – ability to campaign. “I like to meet people. I like to walk out, shake hands, move look at people in the eye, see what they’re thinking,” Biden said. “It’s really curtailed that ability, on my part, and everybody’s part.” The Saturday shooting has thrust the embattled Secret Service into a full-blown crisis. The agency had already faced criticism for security lapses, agent misconduct and low staff morale before the attempted killing of Trump shocked the nation. Mayorkas said the Secret Service would consider the “threat environment” while planning security for outdoor political events in the future. The secretary said he retains “100% confidence” in the Secret Service and its leadership, and White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Biden shared that sentiment. Lawmakers have announced investigations into the attack amid questions about how the shooter was allowed to gain access to a roof with a clear line of sight to Trump, as well as the Secret Service’s protection plan for the former president. He vowed a thorough, independent review “to make sure it doesn’t happen again.” The administration also announced it would be extending protection for independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, a Republican, said he plans to hold a hearing on the shooting and would call Cheatle to testify. A defiant President Joe Biden insisted to his donors  that he is “done talking about the debate” and implored the party to ignore any further distractions and direct its attention back to Donald Trump. “We need to move forward. Look, we have roughly 40 days till the convention, 120 days till the election. We can’t waste any more time being distracted,” Biden said in a private call with donors Monday , according to a recording obtained by POLITICO.

“I have one job, and that’s to beat Donald Trump. I’m absolutely certain I’m the best person to be able to do that. So, we’re done talking about the debate,
it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye,” Biden said.

The forceful message from Biden — which was delivered to hundreds of top Democratic donors and bundlers in the president’s National Finance Committee — is the latest evidence that the president and his allies are working furiously to stem defections in the party. Earlier in the day, Biden sent a fiery message to congressional Democrats, declaring his intentions to remain in the race even as roughly a half-dozen members have publicly called for him to bow out. Several donors who participated in the call described Biden as forceful and strong. He took four questions during the meeting, including one about Biden’s plans for the next debate.

The president responded that his strategy was to “attack, attack, attack,” according to a person listening to the call.

Biden repeated multiple times that he would not be leaving the race: “I’m telling you, I’m not going anywhere folks. I’m in this to the end, and I’m going to beat Trump. I promise you.”

New video shows Trump shooter climbing onto the roof of the very building the police were useing as a staging area

A man with a rifle was seen on a rooftop minutes before shots were fired at a Donald Trump rally in Pennsylvania

Greg Smith said the man had crawled on top of a building just outside the event in Butler County on Saturday evening. He said he pointed the gunman out to the police.

“I’m thinking to myself ‘Why is Trump still speaking, why have they not pulled him off the stage’… the next thing you know, five shots ring out.”

The former president was immediately swarmed by Secret Service agents and escorted away. He was seen with blood on his face and later said a bullet had pierced his ear. The gunman was shot dead, officials later confirmed. Mr Smith said he saw Secret Service agents shoot the man.

Mr Smith was listening from outside the rally and said he saw the gunman around five minutes into Trump’s speech. “We noticed the guy bear-crawling up the roof of the building beside us, 50ft away,” he said. “He had a rifle, we could clearly see a gun. “We’re pointing at him, the police are down there running around on the ground, we’re like ‘Hey man, there’s a guy on the roof with a rifle’… and the police did not know what was going on.”

Mr Smith said he tried to alert the authorities for three to four minutes, but thought they probably could not see the gunman because of the slope of the roof.

“Why is there no Secret Service on all of these roofs here?” he asked. “This is not a big place. “[It’s a] security failure, 100% security failure.”

He said he later saw the agents shoot the gunman: “They crawled up on the roof, they had their guns pointed at him, made sure he was dead. He was dead, and that was it – it was over.” Anthony Guglielmi, a Secret Service spokesman, said agents had “neutralized the shooter” and “quickly responded with protective measures”. The incident is being investigated as an attempted assassination. A crowd member was killed and two others were critically injured, the service added. United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida Aileen Cannon dismissed on Monday the case against former President Donald Trump that charged him with taking certain classified documents from the White House when his tenure ended to his private residence of Mar-a-Lago. According to the court papers, Cannon granted Trump’s request to drop the case due to the “unlawful appointment and funding” of Special Counsel Jack Smith, who presented the charges against the former president. She determined that naming Smith to the case violated the Appointment Clause and the Appropriations Clause of the US Constitution. Smith is permitted to appeal the decision. NN; See how they run. Trump urges ‘dismissal of all witch hunts’ against him

Former United States President Donald Trump reacted on Monday to the dropping of the case that charged him with taking certain national classified documents when he left the White House to his residence in Mar-a-Lago by calling for the “dismissal of all the witch hunts” against him. Writing on Truth Social, Trump urged the cancellation of the cases trying his role in the raid on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, alleged attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia, and the supposed financial mishaps undertaken by The Trump Organization, as well as of the two he was found guilty in, meaning E. Jean Carroll’s accusations of sexual abuse and defamation, and falsifying his business records in New York. Trump once again accused President Joe Biden and his administration of being behind these cases and called for the “end [of] all weaponization of our justice system.”

Former United States President Donald Trump recalled his near-death experience, recounting the moment the shooting at a Pennsylvania campaign rally left him with a minor ear injury. “I’m not supposed to be here. 30-yr Treasury yield surpasses 2-yr yield…. Our ZEROES are getting ready

The United States 30-year Treasury yield went above the two-year Treasury yield on Monday, with the gap between the two disinvesting for the first time since January. The move comes following the events that took place over the weekend, as investors seemingly tried to assess how the attack on former United States President Donald Trump could affect the country’s political scene and upcoming elections. Meanwhile, it was reported that the US inflation cooled to 3% in June. After topping the two-year Treasury note yield, the return on the 30-year bond increased 3.6 basis points to 4.436% at 4:31 am ET, while the yield on the two-year note fell 1.7 basis points to 4.441% simultaneously. Israel strikes UNRWA school, killing 14

Israeli forces bombed a school operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza, killing and injuring several Palestinians, according to health officials. The Gaza media office reported an initial death toll of 14, with the number of casualties expected to grow. Another 70 are also known to be injured in the strike. This incident follows previous Israeli airstrikes on UNRWA-operated facilities amid claims of targeting Hamas, with the latest attack on a school in Gaza killing 20 just this week.
