Equities on Wall Street climbed in the premarket trade on Monday as investors are eyeing updates on the coronavirus vaccine rollout as well as the COVID-19 stimulus gridlock in Washington. United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in a phone call with Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin that during the coronavirus pandemic “the need for state and local funding is even more important, especially given the states’ responsibility for distributing and administering the vaccine.” The Dow Jones added 0.57% or more than 170 index points at 10:31 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 strengthened 0.27% and 0.48% at the same time, respectively.
